I first exfoliated my skin by using a loofah pad and shaving my legs as well. As you may know, anytime we tan naturally, with machines, or with self-tanners, we are only changing the color of the top layer of epidermis which will shed off naturally over the next thirty days, thus losing the color.
Next, I applied the product to my legs, upper feet, arms, and torso. If you have used a self-tanner before, you know that the smell of these products can be a bit overbearing ... a scent you don't really like wearing all day long. The scent in this product was lighter and much more tolerable in that respect. I will not tell you it has no scent, but not near the heaviness of others I have tried in the past.
Additionally, it has RE9 elements in the product which are great anti-aging properties. I could have applied the product a little less liberally the first day and it did take awhile for it to absorb into my skin for this reason. I noticed results within 2-3 hours that intensified throughout the day into a beautiful golden tan tone.
I skipped one day between my second application. Applying it lighter, but evenly this time, it absorbed much quicker. The tanning results were beautiful both days.
Ironically, the product also has a sunscreen included so you can also get some light sun exposure with it as well. It is a little pricey compared to drugstore available self-tanners.
